How do you tell a fantastic house from a not so good one?  Here is our quick checklist

  1. how big is the outside of the house - this will give you a really good indication of how large the bedrooms will be

  2. look closely at the quality of the furniture and fittings in kitchen and bathroom. It is flat pack Ikea or proper solid oak?

  3. are you encouraged / allowed to meet the other housemates?

  4. is there a video of the house to look at together with a floor plan of each room with dimensions?

  5. how fast is the wifi and how is to managed to ensure when you are working from home you don't have any issues? 

  6. what is the cleaning service for communal areas and how often?

  7. parking? is there any and where is it?
